NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week: 14 Places to Grab a Great Lunch
A round-up of some great restaurants offering luscious lunch fare this Restaurant Week
A lot of the excitement around NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week focuses on evening dining but don’t forget that many venues are also open at lunchtime and indeed, many of them offer special lunchtime deals that are fantastic value.
We’ve gathered together a few restaurants that are ideal places to spend a long, luxurious lunch or brunch when Restaurant Week returns from 3rd to 9th August.
You could be on a shopping trip, or out making a day of it with friends. You could even be having a special lunch in the middle of a busy day at the office, so read on for some top-class early dining inspiration.
Meat:Stack, Groat Market
No-one does proper indulgent burgers quite like Meat:Stack, and this Restaurant Week they’re dishing up some flippin’ great deals. There are £15, £20 and £25 offers to take advantage of, but rest assured that all of them include their iconic real American cheeseburgers. Talk about delicious!
Tyneside Bar Café, Pilgrim Street
Making their Restaurant Week debut with not one but two £15 offers, Tyneside Bar Café is a no-brainer for some great lunch this August. Their first deal includes a main and dessert – with as many film puns as you’d expect. Can we interest anyone in a Reservoir Dog? Alternatively, guests can enjoy a sharing board for two, plus a dessert each. We love a Bob Mortimer reference in the NE1 office, so make ours a “Meats & Cheeses Always Pleases”, if you don’t mind. Ta very much.
The WonderBar, The Gate
For a slightly more casual Sunday lunch this Restaurant Week, look no further than The WonderBar. Their £15 offer will get you a three-course Sunday lunch including starters like tomato mascarpone soup, mains including a choice of roast turkey, pork, beef or gammon with all the trimmings and desserts like sticky toffee pudding. Dining out during the week? Don't miss out on The WonderBar's weekday three-courses for £15 either - it's available from 12pm!
Olive Kitchen, Marlborough Crescent
Since opening back in 2024, family run café and bistro Olive Kitchen has been dishing up a delicious breakfast and lunch menu. If you’ve not had a chance to visit yet, then why not head down for Restaurant Week? Their £15 lunch-for-one deal gets you a hearty midday meal featuring tasty fare like hearty baguette sandwiches and loaded fries, sides including onion rings and chilli cheese bites - and they're even throwing in a drink and slice of cake too! If you fancy brunching it up this Restaurant Week, check out their £15 breakfast-for-one deal as well.
Hotel Gotham, Pilgrim Street
The glamorous Hotel Gotham opened its doors on Pilgrim Street in late 2025 and we're happy to report that its equally luxurious Siren Restaurant is once again taking part in Restaurant Week. Guests can enjoy two courses for £25 at lunch from 12pm to 3pm (or later for dinner, if you'd prefer!) with starters like citrus cured trout, mains like pork and beef meatballs with polenta and puttanesca – plus desserts like the delightfully sounding raspberry and frangipane tart - Hotel Gotham's menu is bound to delight lunchtime diners.
Café Bar Kaltur, High Bridge
Brighten up your lunchtime with a taste of Spain, brought to Toon by Café Bar Kaltur! This High Bridge hotspot is putting sad sandwiches to shame with their Restaurant Week deal offering two to three tapas dishes per person for £15, £20 and £25 (dependant on dishes). We’ll take some tomato toast and Cantabrian whitebait, please!
I Scream for Pizza, Quayside
If the work diary is stacked and you don’t quite have time for a sit-down meal – fret not! I Scream for Pizza has you covered this summer. Their £15 offer features one of their iconic 14” pizzas and a sundae - perfect for lunch with workmates or a family feast this Restaurant Week.
3SIXTY, Rutherford Street
Sky-high venue 3SIXTY is also offering up a hearty Sunday lunch this Restaurant Week with a two courses for £20 offer featuring starters like minestrone soup and hearty roast mains like sirloin of beef, confit lamb shoulder and chicken breast dished up with all the trimmings – Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, mashed swede and gravy included. For something a little lighter at lunchtime, their £20 afternoon tea deal is great too with a selection of sandwiches, sweet treats, tea and coffee to enjoy.
Hanoi Pho, Stowell Street
Alternatively, why not try somewhere new at lunchtime this summer? It’s Hanoi Pho’s first year taking part in Restaurant Week, and we’re so excited to have them on-board with three brilliant £15, £20 and £25 offers! The crispy pork spring rolls and Hanoi grill pork with vermicelli are definitely making our stomachs rumble…
Acropolis, Grainger Market
For some tasty lunchtime grub on the go this Restaurant Week, look no further than Grainger Market's multi-award winning purveyors of Greek street food, Acropolis. They've got two great deals going that are perfect for a lunchtime treat. Grab a wrap and some of their special fries for just £15 or a wrap, special fries and halloumi bites for just £20 - with options like chicken gyro and smashed lamb kofta to choose from.
Dakwala, Grainger Street
Fancy spicing up your lunchtime with some Indian food this Restaurant Week? Look no further than Dakwala and their £15 lunch offer. Available between 12:30pm and 4pm, it gets you a choice of three small plates perfect for midday dining including the likes of onion-beet bhaji, fenugreek chicken tikka and vada pav.
The Broad Chare, Broad Chare
The Broad Chare’s Restaurant Week offer is exclusively available at lunchtime, from Monday to Saturday between 12pm and 2:30pm, so it’s definitely a midday dining deal you don’t want to miss. Enjoy two courses for £20 or three for £25 and enjoy starters like crispy lamb breast, mains including dexter beef rump and desserts like chocolate and raspberry trifle.
Dobson & Parnell, Queen Street
Newcastle fine dining favourite Dobson & Parnell has a duo of £25 lunchtime dining deals to enjoy this August Restaurant Week. From Monday to Saturday between 12pm and 2:30pm, enjoy a three-course lunch of starters like sweet potato and coconut soup, mains of charred pork chop and desserts like strawberry cheesecake. Alternatively, book up for a hearty three-course Sunday lunch featuring the likes of roast sirloin, pork loin and chicken served with all the trimmings along with a choice of starters and desserts.
Lubber Kitchen, Blandford Street
Lubber Kitchen is all about serving up seasonal sharing plates family-style and their lunchtime Restaurant Week deal is the perfect chance to sample their culinary ethos. Priced at £20 per person and served Thursday to Saturday from 12pm to 4pm, you’ll share mains of tomato and peach salad, marinated borlotti beans and chicken liver nduja polpette with a choice of sharing starters or a dessert.
These are just a few of the restaurants offering some splendid lunch-friendly deals during NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week and they all provide a perfect excuse to make your midday meal something more special than a sad sandwich from the chiller cabinet and a disappointing coffee. So, get booking and make lunchtime more than a chore!
