Newcastle Mela is a fantastic annual event, celebrating South Asian culture taking place during the August bank holiday weekend.

Immerse yourself in the incredible, vibrant atmosphere as up to 40,000 visitors come into Newcastle to join in on celebrations which has taken place for over 25 years.

Mela showcases everything from entertainers to flavourful food, clothes and crafts and activities. Discover some incredible local circus acts and dance artists.

Taking place in Exhibition Park on 26th - 28th August, the main event will include both international and local acts to recognise the multi-cultural celebration.

Before the main event, Mela in the City will take place by Monument on Saturday 27th August, where you will find a host of performers, including dancers and drummers as well as workshops and activities you can get involved in.
