Summer in the City is a packed programme of fun, free events and activities taking place in Newcastle city centre over the summer months.
With a wide variety of free activities on offer, there’s something to suit everybody during NE1's Summer in the City.
Improve your fitness and wellbeing with activities like bootcamp classes and yoga or get creative with craft, drawing and music workshops. Keep your little ones entertained with storytelling sessions or explore the city’s cultural scene with guided tours of iconic Newcastle landmarks like Grey’s Monument and the Guildhall. Bit of a thrill seeker? Why not see the city from a different angle with our popular Tyne Bridge ziplines?
In 2022, over 32,000 people enjoyed Summer in the City and this year we’re back bigger and better than ever before with over 135 free events and activities for families to enjoy in Newcastle over the summer.
