Restaurant Week is back this August with loads of great Italian dining deals

Last updated:
Sanco

NE1 Restaurant Week returns this August 3rd to 9th, and if you’re a lover of Italian cuisine, then you’re in luck!

Loads of fantastic Italian restaurants in Newcastle are taking part this summer, and we’ve rounded them all up for you to say mamma mia to a mouthwatering Italian meal this Restaurant Week.

Sanco, Forth Banks

Ingenious Italian cuisine is the name of the game at Sanco, the recently opened Forth Banks pizzeria that's taking part in Restaurant Week for the second time this August. There’s no menu here, but rather a rotating choice of bottomless pizza – keep the light on, and the slices will keep coming. Feeling full? Just turn the light off to have a break, or grab the bill. Their £20 Restaurant Week deal gets you bottomless pizza plus a dessert, so don’t miss it!

I Scream for Pizza, Quayside

Fellow pizza hotspot I Scream for Pizza is a Restaurant Week must do for lovers of Italian food too. The vibey little joint offers a £15 deal that includes one of their signature 14” pizzas and a tasty sundae. A Parmageddon pizza followed by a Cookie Monster sundae? Sounds great to us!

Marco Polo Marco Polo

Marco Polo, Dean Street

Long-running restaurant Marco Polo has been delighting local diners for more than fifty years, so you can rest assured you’re in for a delicious Italian meal at this Dean Street mainstay. Go for two courses at £20 or three for £25 and enjoy tempting fare like tuna carpaccio, a risotto of salmon, lemon, mascarpone and dill and passion fruit and pistachio panna cotta.

Babucho, Side

This Restaurant Week, Babucho – the popular New York Italian-style brasserie on Side – is showcasing a whole new side to its menu with a fantastic two courses for £20 and three for £25 deal. There’s lots of Italian treats to enjoy too with the likes of salami arancini, spicy chicken calzone and cappuccino panna cotta – delizioso!

Twenty Twenty Twenty Twenty

Twenty Twenty, Bigg Market

Bigg Market pizza hotspot Twenty Twenty has a brilliant deal going on this Restaurant Week and it’s certainly making our mouths water! For just £15 per person, you can feast on delicious starters like mega mozzarella sticks, followed by one of their legendary pizzas – including the cheese fest that is the It Ain’t Easy Being Cheesy and Tex Mex Later topped with chicken, BBQ sauce, pancetta, red onion and basil - or other like chicken parmigiana and risotto verde. Fancy a dessert on-top of that? It’s just another fiver!

Gino D’Acampo Restaurant Quayside, Close

With a two courses for £20 or three for £25 deal and a gorgeous dining room overlooking the River Tyne, the Quayside branch of Gino D’Acampo is perfect for dining with a view this Restaurant Week. Choose from classic Italian starters like bruschetta, mouthwatering mains like the pizza piccante and desserts like gelato in a range of flavours including pistachio, vanilla and honeycomb.

Lui's Lui's

Lui’s, King Street

You’ll be whisked away to the warmer climes of Italy in an instance with King Street restaurant Lui’s temping Restaurant Week menu. Get two courses for £20 or three for £25 and dine on the likes of traditional pork and beef meatballs, seabass salsa verde and a classic tiramisu.

Uno’s Trattoria, Sandhill

Warm and welcoming, Uno’s Trattoria is all about traditional Italian cuisine and they’ve been serving it from their Sandhill space since 1989 – which speaks pretty well of their food! This Restaurant Week, get two courses for £20 or three for £25 and enjoy mouthwatering mains like wild mushroom risotto, teamed with starters like steamed mussels with chorizo, or desserts like lemon posset with fresh raspberries.

Pizza options include the ‘Fuego’ (spicy Italian sausage, ‘nduja, chilli, rocket) and the ‘Vegetariana’ (olives, mushrooms, red onion, Padrón peppers, courgette ribbons, rosso sauce), while their desserts include burnt Basque cheesecake and Malaga ice cream – not that Italian, but still very tempting!
