We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Hadrian’s Tipi back to NE1. It is the most magical stop off in the city to get you in the festive spirit. This year it is bigger and better than ever, setting up camp in a new spot a the old Odeon site on Pilgrim Street.
Don’t let the outdoorsy setting of the Tipi put you off though, it’s got to be one of the cosiest spots in the city with open log fires, glowing patio heaters and plenty of mulled wine, apple cider and hot chocolate flowing to warm you up inside and out.
It acts as the perfect defence hub against the frosty North East weather this winter, and if it’s not the mulled wine or heaters warming you through, the atmosphere will. You might even need to cool off, in which case there is a vast range of cold beverages on offer provided by The Lakes Distillery, Quaff Box and Tynemouth Coffee Co.
Enjoy the outdoor Winter Beer Garden filled with Christmas trees, outdoor shelters and sparkling lights - or step inside, sit back and take in the live music that fills the Tipi every night. Work up an appetite before you stop by because you are going to want to indulge in an authentic bratwurst or a frankfurter flown in from Bavaria fresh off the charcoal fire. Get stuck into a Fat Hippo burger, dig into Wood & Kindle’s roasted hazelnuts, flatbread or pizza, pull apart thick chips oozing in cheesy yumminess or delve into a scrumptious crepe for a sweet treat.
The little ones will love the food, the atmosphere and Santa’s Grotto where the big man himself will be hanging out ready to take Christmas wish requests. What’s more? You don’t even have to leave your pooch at home because they are all invited to Hadrian’s Tipi, where the whole family is welcome to soak up the festive vibe and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
