CONTESTED DESIRES: Constructive Dialogues: Great North Museum: Hancock

Catch CONTESTED DESIRES: Constructive Dialogues, a new large-scale cultural exhibition and programme produced by Newcastle's own D6: Culture in Transit, when it stops by Great North Museum: Hancock this July.

An ambitious conversation between contemporary artists and the museums, archives and communities that shape our colonial histories, CONTESTED DESIRES: Constructive Dialogues explores complex and interwoven themes of identity, appropriation, power and memory posing the question - what are the impacts of colonial heritage today and whose stories do we hear?

Featuring the works of artists including Chile's Rafael Guendelman Hales, Ghana's Isaac Nana Opoku, Italy's Maria Luigia Gioffre and the UK's Paul Nataraj, the exhibition runs at Great North Museum: Hancock from 17th to 29th July with a preview taking place on 16th July which is free to attend, but booking is required - book here.
