Last updated:

Whether you’re a fitness fanatic, want to start your sports journey or simply want to shift some pounds to get that ‘beach bod’, NE1’s Summer in the City makes it way more fun with a jam-packed programme of sporty classes down by Newcastle’s gorgeous Quayside.

We've rounded up all the fitness activities happening on the Quayside this summer, so that working up a sweat has never been easier!

Agewell Workouts

Led by Newcastle’s very own City Baths, Agewell is a fitness routine designed for the over 60s, but open to anyone aged 18+.

You’ll work up a sweat during their resistance training exercises, prioritising movements that help maintain bone strength, increase flexibility and strengthen those important muscle groups that'll leave you feeling better for longer.

Zumba Classes

There’s nothing to get calories burning like a classic Zumba workout – and Dance City’s running some fantastic sessions this Summer in the City that are putting the fun back into fitness.

Led by experienced Zumba instructor Alé, you’ll dance your way through easy-to-follow moves set to Latin rhythms and leave smiling and bursting with positive energy - let's just say there's a reason Zumba get called 'exercise in disguise'

Vinyasa Yoga Classes
