Fenwick reveal plans for a multi-million pound upgrade of their iconic food hall

Fenwick have today announced plans for a multi-million pound refurbishment of the iconic Food Hall in their flagship Newcastle store. The project, two years in the planning, will deliver exciting dining experiences alongside a refreshed retail offering.
The enticing new eateries will include a Thai street food concept, a Seafood & Oyster Bar, a modern Mediterranean restaurant plus a Café & Patisserie. The renowned ‘Wine Shop’ is also to be transformed and will link to a stylish wine and charcuterie bar.
The retail offering will showcase the very best in regional and international produce and also feature a speciality chocolatier; a fish and seafood counter; meat and game specialists; an artisan bakery; boutique coffee roasters and a fresh juice bar.
Working alongside Fenwick to help realise the project has been award-winning brand and interior design consultancy CADA Design. The London based agency has worked for major international clients in the past, including Dean & Deluca, Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Charbonnel et Walker.
Building work will start in early June with the first phase of the project due to be completed by mid-September. The whole renovation of the Food Hall will be completed by mid-October.
Rhys McKinnell, Head of Food and Catering at Fenwick Newcastle, said: ‘Before we embarked on this project we consulted widely with our customers to discover what they wanted to find in a modern Food Hall. With this exciting development we believe we will deliver what they expected - a world class dining and retail experience.’
