A Tribute to Brendan Healy

Tyne Theatre & Opera House are honored to host an evening of music and comedy in memory of much-loved local entertainer Brendan Healy on Sunday 19th February.
The show was announced by the late performer’s family during a private unveiling of a commemorative photograph and plaque in the theatre’s Bistro Bar.
Tyne Theatre & Opera House proudly presents: A Tribute to Brendan Healy will be a wonderful celebration in memory of the Geordie legend.
The comedian, actor, director, musician, producer and writer was a great friend and supporter of Tyne Theatre & Opera House, having produced the annual pantomime for many years, often writing and starring in it too.
The evening will feature performances from many of Brendan’s friends from the North East’s Entertainment Community, including musician and singer John Miles, actors Tim Healy, Denise Welch and Jill and Chelsea Halfpenny, comedians Steffen Peddie and Josh Daniels and singer Lorraine Crosby. They will be joined on stage by some of Brendan’s family, including two of his three sons, Fin and Sam Healy and a mixture of members from the Brendan Healy Band and Brendan’s Grumpies.
With many more announcements to come, the evening will be a fitting tribute to the very-much missed star.
Theatre Director Joanne Johnson says: “Tyne Theatre & Opera House are incredibly proud to present this tribute to our friend Brendan Healy. Brendan’s portrait now takes pride of place in our Bistro Bar, and the unveiling was a touching way to announce what will be a wonderful celebration of Brendan’s life, here in his beloved Tyne Theatre.”
