2026 Mercury Prize: Utilita Arena

Newcastle is once again proud to host the Mercury Prize, coming to Utilita Arena this October!

Recognising the very best in new British and Irish music, the Prize champions the album format and celebrates artistry across a wide range of contemporary music genres. 

Last year, the North East's very own Sam Fender scooped the Prize for his acclaimed album People Watching and though you'll have to wait until 30th July to find out who made this year's shortlist, you can rest assured that it'll feature some amazing acts - many of which will perform live at the award show here in Newcastle!
