Sir Arthur Munro Sutherland, ‘The Legend of Newcastle’: a talk by Nigel McMurray: Newcastle City Library

This Event has passed

Sir Arthur Munro Sutherland was Lord Mayor in 1918, a shipping line owner and philanthropist who bequeathed The Mansion House to Newcastle. His Scots ancestry and Methodist faith were always significant to him. Unusual emphases will be on his London links, his homes and the artists who painted him.
