There’s a slight chill in the air, the faint hum of Christmas music, and everyone’s starting to ask where the year’s gone… it must be November!

As usual, we’re rounding together ten unmissable events for the month ahead, and from concerts and curry, to markets and movies, there’s loads to get stuck into.

The Big Opera Mystery @ Theatre Royal 

Wannabe detectives (and their grown-ups!) can join Newcastle Theatre Royal this month for The Big Opera Mystery. Featuring live music from the Orchestra of Opera North, you’ll muddle through this mystery, featuring some of the greatest opera characters of all time. Magnifying glasses, deerstalkers and trench coats appreciated – but not compulsory.

Bastille: From All Sides - Songs from the First 15 Years @ Utilita Arena

Bastille are celebrating fifteen years of their incredible multi-award winning discography with the From All Sides tour, so why not take a break away from this Wild World and join ‘em at the Utilita? Expect fan favourites (be prepared to have Pompeii stuck in your head all over again), deep cuts from the Other People’s Heartache mixtapes, and memorable unplugged moments.

Cat Burns @ O2 City Hall

If you’ve got your eyes glued to Celebrity Traitors like the rest of the NE1 office, then head to the O2 City Hall, where one of the traitorous trio will be playing live! Celebrating her sophomore album How to be Human, it’s set to be a hell’uva show from the multi-BRIT and 2024 Mercury Prize nominee.

Stitches in Time: Costume Store Tour @ Discovery Museum

This month, the Discovery Museum invites guests to go behind-the-scenes. Guided by Helen (the Assistant Keeper of History) on a fascinating tour of the Museum’s extensive costume stores, you'll get up close and personal with garments from the past 400 years. From silk shoes to Victorian gowns, there’ll be loads to explore and admire here.

The Argie Bhaji @ Wylam Brewery

Wylam Brewery’s food battles have become something of legend, and this November is no exception, as the Argie Bhaji returns to take the Toon on a culinary adventure. Warm up in the cooler weather, with over fifteen specialist vendors battling it out, DJs spinning some of the best beats, and dessert options for those craving a sweet treat post-curry. Will My Delhi retain their title for the forth year? You’ll have to head along to find out!

The Night Market @ Boiler Shop

Get a head start on that Christmas shopping with The Night Market at the Boiler Shop! Featuring over seventy traders, delicious street food, and a live DJ bringing the good vibes, you’ll be hard pressed not to find the perfect present here. Even better, it’s dog-friendly, and children under twelve go free too.

Ice Skating

Special Skate Sessions @ Life Science Centre

If you’re starting to get those festive feels, then you’ll definitely want to join the Life Science Centre this month! On-top of their usual skating sessions, there’ll be loads of themed events including Taylor Swift, Sam Fender, and Lady Gaga. That’s not forgetting their iconic “Karaoke on Ice” night, where guests have the chance to skate and sing around the rink. Talk about iconic?!

Uncanny Lands: A Field in England @ Tyneside Cinema

Following the huge success of their first event last year, Uncanny Lands returns to Tyneside Cinema again this November for A Field in England.
