Read on for everything you need to know about Newcastle's Official Coronation Screening.

Where is Newcastle's official coronation screening taking place?

A big screen will be set up in Times Square for visitors to enjoy the Coronation of King Charles III and all of the festivities.

What can people expect?

On Saturday, the day gets started at 10.15am with the procession of the King and Queen Consort in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach from Buckingham Palace for the short trip to Westminster Abbey. The ceremony at the Abbey begins at 11am and as well as formal proceedings, will feature music either loved or newly commissioned by the King. The ceremony will take around 2 ½ hours, followed by a procession back to the palace and the traditional gathering on the balcony.

Details of the full line up for the following evening’s Coronation Concert live from Windsor Castle are still closely guarded, but a few confirmed acts include Take That, Katy Perry and Lionel Ritchie as well as many more acts across a range of different genres and generations.

Will I need tickets?

The screenings of both the Coronation of King Charles II on 6th May and the Coronation Concert on 7th May are free public events and no tickets are needed.

There are lots of events planned across Newcastle to mark the coronation – a once-in-a-lifetime event for many of us – with the Times Square screening set to be the city's biggest. Why not head along and gather with thousands of like-minded folk to officially welcome in the new king? Don't forget your Union Jack flag!
