Everything You Need to Know About: Enchanted City
We give you the low-down on Newcastle’s newest annual event

Feel transported to galaxies far far away this December, as the inaugural edition of Enchanted City takes over the Toon after dark.
Whether you’re an astronomical admirer, or paramour for all things planetary, this brand-new event promises to take you from the city streets, to cosmic skies. And of course, we’ve got all the details you’ll need to make sure you make the most of the magic…
What is Enchanted City?
Enchanted City is magical new event, inviting intrepid explorers on an adventure beyond the cosmos this winter. Northumbria University’s city campus will be transformed into an intergalactic wonderland, complete with interactive installations, projections, light art, performance, and drop-in creative workshop encouraging guests to discover the magic and mystery of the universe. Even better, this cosmic voyage is designed for families, so stargazers of all ages can be inspired by the night sky, and enjoy some food and festive drinks afterwards too.
When is it happening?
It’ll be taking place from Thursday 11th December eto Sunday 14th December, and tickets are available to book every fifteen minutes. The site will be open from 4:30pm to 9:30pm, with last entry at 8pm.
Where is it happening?
For its inaugural year, Enchanted City will be taking over Northumbria University’s city campus. It’s an outdoor event, so just remember to dress up warm!
What’s the best way to get there?
If you’re travelling by public transport, then Haymarket bus station and Haymarket Metro are just a stone's throw away! Otherwise, park up at Sandyford Square or John Dobson Street, both just a quick walk away from Enchanted City. To see all available city centre parking, visit the Newcastle City Council website.

Are there any quieter sessions?
Quieter sessions are available from 4pm to 4:30pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, for those who feel they would benefit.
How much are tickets?
Tickets are available for £12.50 per adult, and £7.50 for children aged three and over. Children under three go free, as do essential companions. but you’ll still need to book them a ticket.
How do I get tickets?
Getting tickets is super easy – just visit the official Enchanted City website, pick your preferred timeslot, and ta-da!
