Kids and their grown-ups are in for an egg-cellent time in Newcastle this Easter, with loads of family-friendly happenings to keep everyone entertained.

From cooking classes to crafty workshops, it’s set to be a busy Easter for the young – and young-at-heart! – this Spring. Let’s hop to it!

The Little Mermaid – Easter Panto @ Tyne Theatre & Opera House

Why not head Under the Sea with a trip to Tyne Theatre & Opera House for their Easter panto? This time around, The Little Mermaid takes centre stage, with TikTok and West End star Abbie Budden transforming into Ariel, JJ Hamblett (X Factor, Union J) taking on the role of Prince Evan, and Britain’s Got Talent’s Ben Langley becoming Sheldon the Crab. Expect toe-tapping dance routines, plenty of pop hits, and loads of audience participation!

Children’s Easter Nest Making Activity & Adults Sparkling Cream Tea @ Fenwick

Mini chefs can get busy baking inside Fenwick, making and decorating their own Easter nests. Tickets include a delicious mini tea for the wannabe bakers, while the grown-ups can relax over an indulgent cream tea including a glass of sparkling wine, two mini homemade fruit scones, and tea or coffee. Sounds like a pretty good way to treat the whole family.

Even more fairytales are coming to life across the Toon, as Enchanted: The Ultimate Princess Concert arrives at the O2 City Hall. Paying tribute to the mesmerising music of everything from Tangled and Frozen to Moana and Beauty and the Beast, this candlelit performance promises to be a magical afternoon for the whole family to enjoy.

Easter Holidays at Life @ Life Science Centre

Meanwhile, Life Science Centre are throwing a prehistoric party with the arrival of the North’s biggest collection of animatronic dinosaurs this Easter. Wannabe dino rangers can hunt them down through the trail, attempt to crack the code, and even find out what a real dinosaur might’ve sounded like in the specially themed live show. And that’s not forgetting the Experiment Zone, Planetarium and Play Zone too!
