Celebrate 'Dia de los Muertos’ Festival in NE1

Today is the Dia de los Muertos festival, but you may recognise it as the 'Day of The Dead' or 'Day of the Angels' festival, which is a Mexican holiday that celebrates loved ones that have passed away. You might not need too much persuading to get into the festival spirit, but with our list of the best venues to get your hands on some delicious Mexican food and a bit of tequila, well - that’s reason enough to celebrate.

Halloween might be over but that doesn’t mean the celebrations, parties and face painting has to end as the holiday encourages it all. Whether you're going on your lunch break or after work, pop down to one of the brilliant Mexican restaurants in town and indulge in some fajitas and margaritas to pay homage to the celebratory day.

Barrio Comida

Mexico pays a visit to the banks of the Tyne at this unique little foodie stop. Delve into some flavoursome tacos with a generous dollop of sour cream sitting on top and sprinkled in pink onions.
