The Blackett Street weekends have started with a bang, bringing beanbags, giant games and fairground rides to a newly-pedestrianised, grassy area in the heart of the city.
This family-friendly paradise is the perfect spot to soak up the sun and indulge in Newcastle’s programme of summer fun!
Bringing a family festival-feel to the area from Old Eldon Square to Pilgrim Street, this cool and colourful concept delivered by NE1, will take place on weekends (see dates above) throughout the summer months. Gather the whole gang and check it out!
GO GREEN ON NORTHUMBERLAND STREET
We’ve got more super summer news for the people of NE1… Northumberland Street has been given a glorious green makeover, creating a vibrant new space for families to enjoy.
Team NE1 and Newcastle City Council have worked their magic yet again, installing a temporary summer park, which will be in-situ in the heart of the city’s iconic shopping district until October.
Expect grassy areas, the UK’s largest turf-covered sofa and a life-size rhino – perfect for Insta moments in NE1!
