Nothing beats a good walk in the great outdoors with greenery as far as the eye can see and hundreds of trees, plants and flowers to discover.
But, it’s not everyday you can escape the city and get to your green paradise. That’s where Plantopia comes in. If you can’t get to nature, bring it to you.
In August 2020 mother and daughter duo Linda and Emily Vaughan opened their first ever plant shop in their hometown of Hartlepool.
Inspired by spending more time indoors due to lockdowns, the pair decided it was time to turn their hobby into a business and they haven’t looked back since!
Plantopia was a hit with locals and thrived selling plants online to homes across the country. So much so that a year later Linda and Emily decided to expand the business, opening a new pop-up shop at The Stack in Newcastle city centre - lucky us!
Opening their doors to NE1 in July, the little shop that started out in a summerhouse stocks a bunch of weird and wonderful plants and accessories that we’re certain you’ll fall in love with.
From long Devils Ivy plants to cute little potted cacti, you’ll find everything you need to create your own little slice of green heaven at Plantopia.
If you’re feeling more adventurous they also stock a range of rare plants that’s always changing. So, if you see something you like you better snap it up quickly!
“Since we opened our pop-up shop in Newcastle we’ve been overwhelmed with the support from the local community,” said Emily.
“We’ve met so many new faces already who are excited as us that there is now an indoor plant shop bang in the centre of the town.
“We’re looking forward to meeting many more of you and can’t wait to share what we’ve got in store for the future!”
The Newcastle store is open from 12pm - 6pm Monday to Sunday. We’ll see you down there with bags full of plants very soon!
