NE1 NEWCASTLE RESTAURANT WEEK
We’ve got a very important date for your diaries this summer! From 5th - 11th August, NE1's Newcastle Restaurant Week returns, bringing mega mouthwatering deals to some of the city’s finest foodie hotspots. It’s a great opportunity to round up the family and enjoy some sunshine food in our glorious city! Over 100 restaurants will be giving diners the chance to sample some of their beautiful menus for only £10 or £15pp!
POP-UP PARKS
It’s all about getting out and enjoying the great outdoors this summer - and there’s no reason why you can’t mix a busy city life with a bit of tranquility and chill-out time in NE1! We’ve got many pop-up parks for the people of Newcastle to enjoy. Whether it’s a family-fun afternoon on Blackett Street, a spot of alfresco lunch on our Grey Street Gathering or a quick break on our pop-up village green on Northumberland Street, there’s plenty of outdoorsy fun to be had in Newcastle!
QUAY TO CITY CRUISE AT NEWCASTLE CITY MARINA
Our Newcastle City Marina gang has teamed up with River Escapes this summer to bring a spectacular sightseeing cruise, departing from the Marina. We can’t think of a better way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Sit back, relax and sail up and down the Tyne, taking in some of our city’s most iconic landmarks and bridges as you go.
NORTHUMBRIAN WATER QUAYSIDE SEASIDE
There’s no need to swarm to the coast this season. You can get your beach fix here in NE1 at the Quayside Seaside, in-situ on the Costa del Tyne! Sponsored by Northumbrian Water, this tropical paradise is a great place to sink your toes, rest your legs and soak up the summer vibe!
BIGG FOODIE FRIDAYS
Those looking for a bit of tasty summer fun are in for a treat in NE1, as our monthly Bigg Foodie Friday markets continue throughout the sunny season! Gather the gang for a mouthwatering treat or two on the last Friday of the month, as local traders gather on the Bigg Market to offer everything from burgers and bangers, to pizzas, curries and vegan delights!
KAYAKING ON THE TYNE
Thrill-seekers looking for a bit of city centre adventure shouldn’t miss out on the chance to kayak on the Tyne from NE1’s Newcastle City Marina this summer! Brought to you by Cullercoats Bike and Kayak, the activity is available for the public to enjoy from 20th July!
SCREEN ON THE GREEN
Get your summer cinema fix as NE1's Screen on the Green returns with another packed-out schedule of smash-hit screenings from 22nd July, all the way through until 1st September. Newcastle’s free outdoor cinema screenings are a great place to hang out with friends, entertain the kids and catch some straight-off-the-big-screen movies! So pull up one of our bright blue deckchairs, bring a bag of popcorn and chill out on the green this summer.
