Top 5 Ways to Beat the Stress in Newcastle this Christmas

Take the stress out of Christmas this year in Newcastle with our Top 5 Guide. 5) Start your Christmas Shopping early and beat the crowds There's permanent late night shopping all year round in Newcastle with Alive after Five. However, for the Christmas period, the shops are open even later than usual. Check out Intu Eldon Square's Christmas shopping hours here. The quietest times for shopping, that we recommend are 9am to 11am weekdays and 7pm onwards. 4) Park Up There's free parking in thousands of Newcastle City Centre council car parks, all year round with Alive after Five. Whether you're Christmas shopping or going for an office night out, we're making it easy for you to stay in the city. View all the free car park spaces on our Alive after Five car park map. It's worth choosing one of the quieter car parks such as Oxford Street, Manors or Quayside - they're still close to the city, with less traffic and there's more chance of getting a space (and there's good value on all day charges too!). 3) Put together your #twishlist Shop smart and get focused. Make sure you know what you're shopping for. Browse online and shop in store. This year, Intu Eldon Square have also launched the UK's first twishlist - find out all about it here. We've also got plenty of offers on our website www.getintonewcastle.co.uk so make sure you check them out before you head into town to ensure you snap up some bargains this Christmas. 2) #ChristmasTyne Follow us on Twitter @newcastlene1. This Christmas, we're using the hashtag #ChristmasTyne so you'll know everything there is to know about enjoying this season here in Newcastle City Centre. We'll update you with the best offers, events and any important travel updates to take the stress out of your season. 1) Make it a great day out Newcastle City Centre has so much here to make it a fun day out for you, your family and your friends. Pop into Intu Eldon Square to visit their snow globe, visit the region's favourite outdoor ice rink at Life Science Centre, join with the boos and cheers at one of our excellent pantos or just relax and enjoy a meal at one of our fine restaurants. There's so much to do and see for everyone, here in Newcastle. Or why not treat yourself? Whether it's a cup of tea and a sit down at one of Newcastle's great cafes, or a pamper at a city centre salon, Newcastle City Centre has all you need to make your day more relaxing. View all the Christmas events here and New Year events here.
