Tiger Hornsby raises a glass to two new appointments...

CHAMPAGNE corks were popping when Tyneside’s newest cocktail bar welcomed two new members of staff.
Samuel Boulton, from Heaton, Newcastle, has joined the 15-strong team at Tiger Hornsby, Close, Quayside, following his appointment as Commercial Manager.
The 22-year-old formerly worked at Newcastle-based Brewhub and will be tasked with driving efficiencies on stock and business overheads and creating value propositions for the popular nightspot’s customers.
He will also be identifying new business opportunities for Tiger Hornsby, which opened in September.
Also new to the staff is Rhea Goulding, 23, who will take on the position of Operations Manager.
Rhea, from Monkseaton, brings seven years’ experience of the bar and leisure industry to the role and will be responsible for much of the day to day running of the bar, which is owned by Newcastle-based entrepreneur Rachael Frame.
“Rhea and Sam both bring to their roles an unbeatable combination of ardent commercial planning, strategic operational acumen and fantastic people management within busy and competitive on-trade environments,” said Rachael.
“They have seamlessly slotted into the team at Tiger Hornsby and are already proving popular with customers and staff alike. It’s great to have them on board.”
Tiger Hornsby, which is named after one of Tyneside’s most glamorous ‘It’ girls, is currently inviting female customers to enter a prize draw to win a specially created cocktail of their own.
Not only will their bespoke cocktail be named after them but they will be able to enjoy it free of charge at Tiger Hornsby throughout December.
Details are available from the venue, which is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 2am, on Fridays and Saturdays, from 3pm to 3am and on Sundays 2pm to 1am. Entries close on 31 November.
