Sodexo says “you’re hired,” to its top apprentice …

AN apprentice at one of the North East’s best-loved venues has been told, “you’re hired.” Elisha Lindsay, 22, from Blaydon, originally joined the team at St James’ Park – home to Newcastle United - on a one-year contract as a customer service apprentice. However, bosses at Sodexo Prestige, which manages catering and events at the ground, were so impressed with her hard work and dedication to the role, that she has now been offered a full time position as a conference and banqueting sales co-ordinator. In her new role Elisha, who is a trained beauty therapist and has also worked in retail, will help promote the stadium – which has a wide range of function rooms and suites - to corporate and leisure clients looking for a venue for parties, conferences or meetings.

Samantha Doyle, area sales manager for Sodexo Prestige, said: “From her very first day with us, Elisha’s enthusiasm and commitment were obvious. “She’s passionate about St James’ Park and that passion really comes across when she’s telling clients about the facilities and event we offer.”
