Santa on the Roof Returns as Fenwick Reveals Magical Christmas Line-Up
Fenwick Newcastle today unveils its highly anticipated Christmas 2026 events calendar, as the iconic city centre store prepares to welcome visitors for another packed season of festive celebrations.
A firm fixture in Newcastle’s Christmas calendar, Santa on the Roof returns on Monday 2 November, transforming Fenwick’s rooftop once again into a joyful winter wonderland. Running until Christmas Eve, the experience invites families to meet Santa and his mischievous elves, enjoy festive crafting and indulge in Christmas favourites at Café Claus.
This year, Fenwick will continue its pre-registration system for Santa on the Roof, designed to make the ticketing process smoother. Pre-registration is exclusively available to MyFenwick Loyalty members.
What to expect
The festive journey begins at the third-floor entrance, where Santa’s elves will be waiting to welcome families before whisking them up to the rooftop in the Express Elevator.
Arriving at Santa’s cosy cabin, little ones can meet Santa himself, share their Christmas wishes and soak up the magic of the season.
Next, it’s time to head to Santa’s Workshop for festive crafting with the elves. After all that excitement, families can take a well-deserved break at Café Claus, where parents can enjoy mulled wine, spiced apple juice or rich hot chocolate, served with a classic mince pie. Little ones can choose from hot chocolate or juice, alongside Christmas biscuits, with gluten- and dairy-free options available.
Pre-registration and tickets
Pre-registration for Santa on the Roof is exclusively available to MyFenwick Loyalty members and opens at 10am on Tuesday 22 September, closing at 11:59pm on Sunday 27 September.
Successful applicants will be notified on Wednesday 30 September, with ticket sales open for selected registrants from 10am on Wednesday 7 October.

Santa on the Roof is just one of the highlights of Fenwick Newcastle’s festive programme, with a host of magical Christmas events and experiences planned throughout the season.
Tickets for Santa on the Roof are £25 per person, with a group ticket for six available for £120.
Breakfast with Santa
Returning this year, Breakfast with Santa invites little ones and their families to enjoy a festive breakfast at Colman’s restaurant. Running every Saturday from 5 December, plus 21–24 December, guests will be welcomed by Santa’s elves before enjoying breakfast, festive activities and entertainment.
Children will also receive a gift from Santa, alongside a bespoke Fenwick colouring book and elf hat.
Bookings for Breakfast with Santa opens at 10am on Wednesday 7 October. Sessions run from 9:30am–10:45am, with tickets priced at £25 per person. Under-2s go free.
Gingerbread Baking at The Bakery Academy
New for 2026, Fenwick invites budding bakers to get creative with festive Gingerbread Baking sessions at The Bakery Academy, hosted at Mason + Rye in the Food Hall.
Taking place at 5pm on 3, 10 and 17 December, guests can bake and decorate their own gingerbread man, with light bites included.
