Skipton helps people in Newcastle to look after their loved ones with unique free review and will offer

  • Free will available to all customers who attend a free Skipton Retirement Review;
Making a will is one of the most important things any of us can do to ensure our final wishes are met, and yet an estimated 60% of people put off this vital step until it is too late. However, Skipton Building Society’s Newcastle Branch is offering its customers a unique opportunity to make sure they are prepared for the inevitable, with a free will writing and updating service available from 10 September. Emphasising our mutual commitment to going that extra mile for our customers, the branch, on Grainger Street, is offering this service to every existing and new customer who attend a free Skipton Retirement Review. The Skipton Retirement Review is a free service, designed in partnership with Skipton members. Customers can have an appointment in branch or in the comfort of their own home, and this typically takes no longer than an hour. The service has been designed to give customers a comprehensive picture of their personal finances, and provide guidance for the future. Supported by the Society’s No Pressure Promise, it’s a time for customers to talk to Skipton’s friendly advisors about what’s important to them. With a dedicated Customer Review Advisor from the Newcastle Branch customers can understand their unique circumstances on their own savings, insurance, retirement, legacy planning or any other aspect of their personal finances. Anyone wishing to take advantage of this offer – worth up to £180 – should pop into the Newcastle Branch. One of the friendly advisers will then arrange a Retirement Review appointment. And this offer is also available to people who already have a will. It is recommended that everyone reviews their will when their circumstances change, or every few years and, again, the Newcastle Branch team will be happy to help with this too. Newcastle Branch Manager Ann Morton said: “We’re delighted to be offering the people of Newcastle this fabulous offer. Sitting down and thoroughly reviewing your retirement plans can really bring to the fore what you want to do in your life ahead, and what you might want to leave behind for others. There are many reasons to start thinking about writing a will and the type of will people may need. It’s especially important if people have a property and a mortgage, other assets, are married or cohabiting, have children or have other people who depend on you financially. “The law surrounding inheritance can be complex, making it important that a will is drawn up by experienced will writing professionals. Skipton is a member of the Society of Will Writers, and we’re delighted to be able to offer the people of Newcastle this opportunity. But please do note this is set to be a very popular offer and our free wills will only be available for a limited period of time. “We understand that thinking about dying can be difficult. However, many people might not realise that passing away without a will can result in their legacy being left to people not of their choosing or the state, rather than the people who matter most to them. “Our aim is to protect our customers from falling into this trap, by offering them access to a free will, or will update. This is just the latest way in which we’re working to help people plan for their and their family’s life ahead.” For more details, call Newcastle branch on 0191 2612846 to book a Retirement Review appointment.
