North East design agency is the perfect solution for city-wide music festival

CREATIVE agency Solution Group is providing branding for a revolutionary music festival, hitting Newcastle this April.

‘Hit The North’ is set to be the city’s biggest, inner city music event and it’s branding has already been turning heads.

“We are thrilled to be involved with such a unique experience”, said Peter McGlynn, director at Solution Group.  “It is set to be a very different festival, involving the UK’s most exciting emerging artists, playing at many different locations across the city in one night – so our designs really had to represent this dynamism and energy.

“Utilising Newcastle’s industrial heritage, the identity has a strong mechanical feel to help distance it from the typical ‘summer of love’ branding of other festivals.”

‘Hit the North’, the brainchild of Steve and Paul Davis of SSD Concerts, Keith Armstrong of Soul Kitchen Music and Management and Katherine Monaco of Famous 4:15, will see 116 bands perform in 14 venues city wide on the 27th, 28th and 29th April.

Peter McGlynn explained, “I was blown away when I initially learnt about the plans – it really will be a stellar multi-venue event in the city centre and should have people travelling here from all over the country.

“It’s also really impressive that many smaller bands will receive support and exposure. We are proud to be involved with such a great collaborative project”, he added.

Based in Gateshead, Solution Group has a strong history of design for the music industry – including names such as: Kate Walsh, Detroit Social Club, I am Kloot, Sirens, Kapitahl:a and The Motorettes to name just a few. The firm also works for Kitchenware Records home of Prefab Sprout, The Lighthouse Family and Editors.

The team has also completed numerous projects for Sage Gateshead, including award winning design work for its annual SummerTyne festival and the Allen Valley Folk Festival.

Solution Group has over 20 years’ design experience and provides its clients with branding, web development, multimedia design, illustration, art direction, photography and copywriting across online and offline platforms.
