Newcastle’s Andrew Cushin releases new single “Goodbye” and announces fifth headline show at 02 City Hall Newcastle
North East star returns home this December following UK chart success, major international touring and support from Noel Gallagher, Pete Doherty and Sam Fender.
Newcastle singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin has released his brand-new single “Goodbye” and announced a major UK headline tour - culminating in a landmark fifth hometown headline show at O2 City Hall Newcastle this December.
Tickets are on sale now for the show on Thursday 10 December 2026, marking another major moment in what has become one of the North East’s most remarkable music success stories.
Still only in the early years of his career, Cushin has gone from playing local venues to becoming one of the UK’s most talked-about young songwriters, earning backing from Noel Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Sam Fender and Louis Tomlinson while building a growing audience across the UK, Europe and North America.
His new single “Goodbye”, released via First Run Records, arrives following the success of second album Love Is For Everyone, which secured Cushin his first UK Top 40 album and continued a rapid rise that began with debut record Waiting For The Rain - an album that spent three weeks at Number One on the Official Independent Album Breakers Chart.
Written and recorded across sessions in Newcastle upon Tyne, The Bahamas and Wigan, “Goodbye” captures the bigger, more expansive direction Cushin has become known for - combining sharp songwriting, driving guitars and the kind of huge, emotional choruses that have increasingly become his trademark.
Andrew Cushin said: "I’m incredibly proud of Goodbye. It’s one of those songs that changed a lot from the original idea through to the finished version and I think that’s what makes it exciting. It feels big, direct and honest - and I can’t wait for people to hear it properly and experience it live.”
The release also launches a new UK tour that arrives after several years of relentless momentum. Cushin has toured extensively with Louis Tomlinson across Europe and North America and has played iconic venues including The Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Greek Theatre and Forest Hills Stadium. Alongside headline dates of his own, he has also joined tours with Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Robbie Williams, Pete Doherty and Starsailor.
This summer he will appear alongside Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and The Undertones at a series of major outdoor shows across the UK.
Yet despite international stages and growing national recognition, Newcastle remains central to Cushin’s story.
In 2023 he became the youngest Geordie artist to sell out Newcastle City Hall, drawing more than 4,500 fans across two nights before going on to headline the outdoor Mouth of the Tyne Festival. Now, with a fifth headline date confirmed at one of the city’s most iconic venues, Cushin returns to a stage that has become closely tied to his rise.
He added: “Every time I come home and play Newcastle it means something completely different. City Hall has become a huge part of my journey and I don’t take that for granted. To be coming back for a fifth headline show after everything that’s happened over the last few years feels really special. Newcastle backed me early and I always feel that when I step out on stage there.”
For generations, Newcastle City Hall has hosted some of the biggest names in music history - and Cushin’s growing connection with the venue continues to cement his place in that story.
With “Goodbye” out now and tickets now on sale, December’s hometown return is set to be another defining chapter for one of the North East’s biggest breakthrough artists.
