Lichfields announces 4 promotions in Newcastle

UK planning and development consultancy Lichfields has announced 4 promotions in its Newcastle office as part of 14 promotions across the business.

Alex Kennedy, James Robertson and Emily Thomson have been promoted to Associate Director, while Lucy Blakemore has been promoted to Senior Planner.

Harvey Emms, head of Lichfields’ Newcastle office, said: “Alex, James, Emily and Lucy have each made an important contribution to our Newcastle team and thoroughly deserve their promotions.

They bring a strong combination of planning and economics experience, allowing us to advise clients on a wide range of development projects across the North East and further afield.

Their progression reflects both the quality of their work and the responsibility they have taken on. I look forward to seeing them continue to develop in their new roles.”

Alex joined Lichfields in 2019 and has developed his planning career within the Newcastle office. Emily joined Lichfields in 2018 and was promoted to Senior Planner in 2022. She advises a range of clients across the retail, leisure, commercial and infrastructure sectors, with particular expertise in preparing detailed retail impact assessments for national retailers.

James joined Lichfields in 2022 and supports public and private sector clients in assessing and articulating the economic impacts of development proposals to help secure positive planning outcomes. He also helps clients unlock funding and accelerate development through his expertise in business case preparation and appraisal.

James Fennell, Chief Executive of Lichfields, said: “These staff have consistently delivered successful outcomes for our clients. Our business grows around the success of our people and 14 promotions reflects the upward trajectory of the Company.”
