The Delta Quadrant's Office Christmas Party

This December, drag performer and recent RuPaul's Drag Race UK contestant The Delta Quadrant brings her debut full-length theatre production, The Delta Quadrant's Office Christmas Party, to Alphabetti Theatre for a limited festive run. The show marks the first major staged production for the Darlington-born drag artist, whose corporate alter-ego recently introduced television audiences across the UK to her unique blend of character comedy, absurdity and unapologetic boardroom dysfunction.

The Delta Quadrant embodies power, ambition and sheer delusion; she is the original corporate executive diva. In her trademark blonde bob and 80s Wall-street get up, TDQ is climbing the ladder, breaking the glass ceiling and looking fabulous as she does so.

It’s Christmas at Quadrant Inc. but just as The Boss is about to sashay away through the revolving doors she’s hit with a discovery so seismic it would topple any big boss off their pedestal; she has not been invited to the office Christmas party.

Naturally, Christmas is on hold until the party planning culprits are held to account. A full-scale investigation ensues, where left over pizza crusts and photocopied body parts inform the most thorough and stringent performance review Delta has ever delivered. No audience member is safe from the disciplinary to end all disciplinaries - with festive chaos and corporate condemnation all tied up in an hour.

Blending stand-up and storytelling, the show promises a hilarious festive night out that sits somewhere between an office party, a disciplinary hearing and a complete corporate meltdown.

Combining the anarchic spirit of alternative cabaret with the character-led comedy that has made The Delta Quadrant one of the North East drag scene's most distinctive voices, this will be possibly the only disciplinary you’ll want to repeat.

Alphabetti is committed to becoming a centre for creative development and their regular Christmas slot helps artists realise their ideas and utilise the skills they have honed for years. This production continues Alphabetti Theatre's growing reputation for offering an alternative festive programme, following previous Christmas productions including Little Miss Christmas and A Queermas Carol.

"Don't call her. She'll call you."

Edward Cole, Artistic Director of Alphabetti Theatre, said: "At Alphabetti we're committed to helping brilliant artists make the leap from exciting ideas and performances into fully realised theatrical productions, and there are few artists more exciting right now than The Delta Quadrant. Since first appearing on the North East cabaret circuit, Delta has created one of the most distinctive comedy characters I've encountered, and her recent appearance on RuPaul's Drag Race UK has only confirmed what local audiences already knew.

This show is funny, ridiculous and completely unique, but beneath the shoulder pads, business jargon and corporate delusion is a genuinely brilliant piece of character comedy. We're thrilled to be helping bring The Delta Quadrant's first full-length theatre show to life and can't wait to introduce audiences to Quadrant Inc. this Christmas."

The Delta Quadrant said:

“The end of Q4 is a time of increased activity at Quadrant Inc., which is why I am delighted that the Alphabetti Theatre have allowed me to erect a temporary workspace over the festive period to check on progress here in Newcastle. I’ll be punching the clock - not too hard, they’re expensive! - and dropping by your cubicle, rubbing shoulderpads with all my subordinates in this brand new, business boosting, HR-approved (I think?) Christmas show."
