Job Opportunity : Business Network Manager at NE1 (Maternity Leave Cover)

NE1 are looking for an experienced, pro-active manager to provide maternity leave cover developing our youth employability programme; working with closely with businesses and young people.

Business Network Manager, NE1 Employability Programme – Job Description

Maternity Cover:  6 months - mid August 2016 to mid Feb

Working Hours:  15 or 22.5 hours per week (TBC)

Reporting to the NE1 Project Coordinator, responsibilities include:

Establishing strong working relationships with businesses and youth service providers in NE1 and beyond in order to

  • Secure jobs, apprenticeships and training places for young people
  • Provide a regular programme of work experience, placements and site visits
  • Deliver regular careers events

Supporting the marketing and young people recruitment with schools, colleges and through social media

Personal Specification

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-starting, and tenacious individual who is able build a network of NE1 businesses, training providers and educational establishements to enhance our employability programme.  The role will be wide ranging and varied and will require the successful applicant’s involvement across the programme.  As such, they will need to be comfortable working and communicating with the full range of NE1’s staff and member businesses and other providers in the sector, as well as young people.  In particular the applicant will need to work closely with the current careers advisor.  The ability to use their initiative and to work independently, manage work to tight deadlines and proactively identify opportunities will be absolutely essential; as will flexibility to adapt to changing needs as the role and programme develop.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have good knowledge and contacts within the charity sector, be educated to degree level and be comfortable using Microsoft Office programmes such as MS Word and MS Excel as well as social media platforms.
