Eldon Square Launches Immersive Disney Trail and Six Weeks of Family Friendly Fun
Eldon Square launches a magical new Disney trail with exciting prizes. Enjoy six weeks of free family fun, from princess meet and greets to wizarding school.
Eldon Square, Newcastle’s premier shopping destination, is delighted to announce an unforgettable summer programme that is set to entertain the whole family all summer long. From Monday 21st July to Sunday 31st August, get ready to enjoy an exciting line-up of weekly events, alongside a magical new Disney-themed trail.
Located throughout the centre, the Disney trail is a brand-new experience launching this summer and is free for all families to enjoy. For those wishing to take part in the full trail experience, simply head to the Customer Service desk to collect your magical map. Once you’re ready to go, search for 12 hidden vinyls throughout the centre, each one holding a letter to solve a magical puzzle. Return your completed map to the Customer Service desk to claim your certificate and a sweet treat.
For those who can, Eldon Square is encouraging participants to donate £2 to the Sunshine Fund – a local northeast charity that provides specialist and adapted equipment to children aged 0-19 living with disabilities, additional needs, chronic and terminal illness. Donations can be made by scanning a QR code at the Customer Service desk.
Adding to the excitement, every week one lucky participant will win a family ticket to the incredible spectacle that is Disney On Ice, showing at the Utilita Arena Newcastle in November. After completing the trail, simply sign up to the Eldon Square newsletter at the Customer Service desk to be in with a chance of winning. What’s more, at the end of the summer, all trail participants will be entered into a grand prize draw to win a VIP Disney On Ice experience – including pre-show hospitality, an exclusive meet and greet with beloved Disney characters and a £100 Eldon Square gift card.
And the fun doesn’t stop there at Eldon Square this summer! Each week of the summer holidays will feature a different themed event, all running from 11am to 3pm in the Community Quarter:
Wizarding World (Friday 25th – Sunday 27th July)
Aspiring wizards are invited to step into an enchanting Wizarding World, where they’ll immerse themselves in magical tasks, including building their own spell book and a special wizarding session with Eldon Square’s Head Wizard. Fancy dress is encouraged, and little ones will receive a pack of small Haribo’s when they’ve completed their spell book.
Princess Takeover (Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd August)
A fairy tale comes to life as princesses take over Eldon Square! Activities include a meet and greet with ‘royal’ guests, enchanted storytelling, tiara making and face painting – a day that is perfect for princes and princesses alike.
Superhero Spectacular (Friday 8th – Sunday 10th August)
Families are invited to meet their favourite superheroes, take on the Hero Training Challenge, create their own superhero masks, and enjoy themed face painting.
Art Attack (Friday 15th – Sunday 17th August)
It’s time to get creative as families are invited to design, doodle and create their own canvas masterpiece to take home with them.
Pirate Adventure (Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th August)
Head down to the Community Quarter for a pirate adventure, complete with pirate-themed puzzles, treasure maps and sword-making crafts. A wonderful adventure for little buccaneers.
Summer Carnival (Friday 29th – Sunday 31st August)
Wrap up the summer with traditional carnival games including Hook a Duck, Whack a Rat, and Ball in the Bucket, alongside the opportunity to win prizes and enjoy face painting.
Alongside the many summer activations, visitors to the centre can also enjoy Eldon Square’s array of exciting new shops and dining options. From Wingstop and Maki and Ramen to Oliver Bonas and NEXT, the centre has an exciting selection of new brands guaranteed to brighten your day.
