Eldon Square Set to Welcome Oseyo’s Largest Store Yet with North-East Debut
Something exciting is landing in Newcastle this July, as Eldon Square prepares to welcome Oseyo, the UK's leading Korean food and lifestyle retailer, with its largest store to date.
Opening on Saturday 25th July, the new store will bring an incredible mix of Asian food, drinks, beauty, lifestyle products and in-store experiences to the heart of Newcastle.
To celebrate the opening, visitors can enjoy a packed programme of entertainment and activities throughout the day, including an official opening ceremony, ribbon-cutting and countdown to opening and a traditional lion dance performance.
Visitors can also look forward to product tastings and live tasting demonstrations throughout the store, offering the perfect opportunity to discover exciting new flavours and favourites from across Asia. To mark the occasion, Oseyo will also be giving away 200 exclusive VIP goodie bags to customers who spend £20 or more on opening day - available while stocks last. VIP goodie bags are limited to one per adult.
Marking Oseyo’s first opening in the North-East, the new Eldon Square store has been designed to offer shoppers an immersive retail experience that goes beyond the traditional supermarket. Alongside Oseyo’s much-loved Ramyun Library, featuring an extensive collection of noodles from across Asia, visitors will find Japanese arcade claw machines at the store entrance, two Korean-style photobooths one with a diner theme and another with an underwater theme, and the brand’s largest Korean cosmetics area.
Adding to the authentic Korean supermarket experience, the new store will also feature a dedicated packing area, where customers can use recycled boxes at checkout to pack larger shops more sustainably and conveniently.
What’s more, this summer, shoppers can cool down and stock up at Eldon Square’s Oseyo, as the store is set to offer the brand’s largest fresh produce selection to date, alongside its hugely popular Fruit Ice Cream Sorbet and wider ice cream range.
Perfect for discovering new flavours, viral treats and refreshing summer favourites, visitors are encouraged to head down and explore Oseyo’s biggest store yet.
Helen Cowie, Centre Director at Eldon Square, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Oseyo’s largest store to date at Eldon Square, especially as the opening will mark the brands first arrival to the North-East. There’s already so much anticipation building around the opening, with VIP goodie bags and tasting demos available, along with an extensive product range.
“And with Oseyo bringing a fresh and exciting new offer to the centre, that combines authentic Korean food, beauty and lifestyle products with engaging in-store moments, we know the people of Newcastle will welcome the new store with enthusiasm.”
Isaac Kweon, Operations Director at Oseyo, added: “Opening in Newcastle is a huge milestone for Oseyo, marking two major milestones for the brand with its first North-East store and largest supermarket to date. We’re thrilled to be joining Eldon Square and bringing Oseyo to the heart of the city.
“We want Oseyo Newcastle to be the ultimate all-in-one destination for the whole community, whether customers are visiting for their weekly shop, discovering new products, trying our fresh produce and ice cream, or enjoying the photobooths and claw machines. We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome everyone in.”
Oseyo’s arrival adds even more flavour to Eldon Square’s exciting food and drink line-up this summer. From Nando’s, Chaophraya, Wingstop, and Boost, to the newly opened Freight Island, visitors can discover everything from grab-and-go favourites and refreshing summer drinks to rooftop dining, live music and viral Korean snacks, all at Eldon Square.
