DJ Yoda presents Breakfast of Champions

DJ Yoda presents Breakfast of Champions Saturday 28th March 2015 8pm Tickets: £15 (additional booking fee may apply) Duncan Beiny aka DJ Yoda is no ordinary scratch DJ. His seminal How To Cut & Paste series showcases a tongue-in-cheek mixing style that prompted Q Magazine to declare him “one of the ten DJs to see before you die”, while Hip Hop Connection voted him “one of the top three DJs in the world”. The past decade has seen Yoda evolve from hip-hop beginnings, using his world renowned turntable skills and a truckload of influences as diverse as funk, trap, pop, reggae, drum ‘n’ bass, and even big band swing and country and western, to make unashamed party music. Buoyed by the wealth of collaborators for his acclaimed second album, ‘Chop Suey’, Yoda has been busy in the studio creating his first live hip-hop band, Breakfast of Champions. Evoking the golden age of hip-hop, the band features up-and-coming wordsmith Rex Domino, Mouse Outfit MCs Sparks and Truthos Mufasa, plus a host of musicians chosen in partnership with Manchester venue and arts project, Band on the Wall, where they made their live debut with a sell-out show.
