Touted as one of the finest banjo players in the UK as well as being a superb singer, songwriter and guitarist, Dan Walsh is described as 'the real deal' (Uncut) and 'taking the banjo into the stratosphere' (Froots) with a unique and eclectic style taking in folk, funk, bluegrass, jazz, rock and even Arabic.
The newest member of the award winning Urban Folk Quartet, Dan will be doing an extensive UK solo tour in March and April just after returning from a month's tour of New Zealand. After making his name with award nominated duo Walsh and Pound, Dan had a remarkable solo year in 2013 touring three new countries as well as the UK and receiving critical acclaim for his album 'The Same But Different'. He also collaborated with Indian sarangi player Suhail Yusuf Khan, Canadian country singer Meaghan Blanchard and English concertina legend Alistair Anderson. Previous credits also include touring with Seth Lakeman's band, playing on stage and in the studio with the Levellers and with Martin Simpson.
Expect the unexpected from this imaginative and entertaining performer and hear new songs for the first time before his next solo album is released in the autumn. Please see attached tour dates.
