A Huge Taste Of Christmas Is Coming To Newcastle This Winter!
Inside the walls of Times Square this Winter we welcome you to immerse yourself in the magical festive world we call the Christmas Village!
As you enter the village you will be surrounded by all the wonders you know and love at this time of year. The pretty twinkling lights, the smell of mulled wine and chestnuts roasting on an open fire, the sound of Christmas cheer all around you.
Featuring a huge authentic fully dressed Bavarian beer hall - supplying a wide variety of drinks including their infamous wheat beers served in steins, courtesy of Erdinger. With music and live entertainment from German Oompah bands.
Traditional German street food huts surround the courtyard overlooking the stunning Christmas tree, with the winter log cabin serving a wide variety of beers, heated by an open log fire, log burners on the terrace and merry people dancing under the wooden rafters to live music and DJs.
The ‘Christmas Village’ will also feature a weekend Christmas craft market, where you can handpick a gift for a loved one, seasonal decorations, sweet treats or even bring home your very own ‘Real’ Christmas tree.
Attractions on site also include the North East’s only outdoor ice rink which will now be open into the early evening, perfect for a romantic skate under the festoon lights whilst the smells and sounds from the Village tickle your senses.
The fun doesn’t stop there! A Christmas Village wouldn’t be complete without a Santa’s Grotto which will operate Saturdays and Sundays (within the craft market) plus the proverbial cherry on top is the full size adult carousel which will light up the square and guide the way into the Christmas Village - the North East’s very own festive wonderland!
Mike Hesketh the organiser of the event, previously known for his involvement in Evolution Festival, hugely popular music event Northern Lights, and more recently Cheesetoon and Paddy Fest, says:
“After visiting Winter Wonderland in London 4 years ago and seeing people of all ages coming together, having so much fun at this special time of year, injected a passion and drive to create a unique space in my home city of Newcastle for everyone to enjoy during the Winter season”

Being next to Central Station and just a stone throw away from the main retail shops, means the village is accessible to all. Plus the hugely popular ice rink already in place for the winter period means it’s the perfect site to add more Christmas delight!”
