Dr Syntax and Pete Cannon: World HQ

This Event has passed
Catch Hip-hop colossal Dr. Syntax & superstar producer & chart-sensation Pete Cannon on their Why So Serious? tour, with support from the explosive Jman, this March! They will also be showcasing some of the best local talent so hold tight for new announcements soon! Pete Cannon and Dr Syntax are well-established names in the British hip hop scene, both as a duo and as solo artists. Hailing from British towns not exactly synonymous with hip hop pedigree (Blackpool and Banbury respectively), they nevertheless display a knack for crowd-pleasing bangers and on-point rap skills, all delivered with tongues firmly in cheek. They released their debut album, the aptly-named Killer Combo! in 2014, featuring an impressive list of guest vocalists Del The Funky Homosapien (Gorillaz/Heiroglyphics), Dirty Dike (High Focus) Jehst, Lunar C, Eva Lazarus and Jman. Dr Syntax cut his teeth touring with legendary rap/dance act Foreign Beggars, after appearing on their debut album Asylum Speakers in 2004. He has since released many well-received solo albums, including 2007s Self Taught, widely regarded as a UK hip hop classic. Syntax is also frontman and frequent collaborator with Manchester-based nine-piece hip hop band The Mouse Outfit, regularly smashing club and festival stages across the UK and Europe. Pete Cannon has been making beats for most of his life, and has produced for the likes of Action Bronson, Guilty Simpson, Maffew Ragazino and Punchline (EMC), and has had his music played on none other than DJ Premiers radio show. He has worked extensively with the UKs biggest hip hop label, High Focus, and produced a top 10 chart hit for UK pop sensations Rizzle Kicks (Lost Generation). He also releases more electronic music under the pseudonym Opal Block, on esteemed UK label Astral Black records. If all that wasnt enough, he is also known to tear up a rave with an all-vinyl jungle set alongside rising star Jman on MC duties.
