EXHIBITION: Vermeer and Music: The Art of Love and Leisure: Tyneside Cinema

The National Gallery in London presents a major exhibition of one of the most startling and fascinating artists of all time, Johannes Vermeer. The exhibition focuses on his art in relation to music, which was one of the most popular themes of Dutch painting and revealed an enormous amount about the sitters and their society. New research, showcased for the first time at this exhibition, has also uncovered how Vermeers techniques and materials affected his works.
