The Modern Novel: a panel discussion: The Lit and Phil

Almost ninety years on from Phyllis Bentley's lecture on "The Modern Novel" at The Lit & Phil, a new panel of contemporary writers, critics and editors come together this September to share their thoughts on what "the modern novel" means in 2025.

The audience will be joined by a talented panel of speakers, including D.J. Taylor (Orwell: The New Life), Rachel Hore (The Secrets of Dragonfly Lodge), Margaret Wilkinson (Lublin), and George Cochrane (featured in The Telegraph, The Financial Times).
