David Hughes on Jeremiah Dixon: The Lit and Phil

This Event has passed

Jeremiah Dixon is largely remembered for his part in the surveying of the celebrated Mason-Dixon line in the United States. His work as an astronomer, significant as it was, is largely forgotten. Dixon was a local man, born in Cockfield, County Durham, who travelled the world in his efforts to determine the scale of the Solar System, and the size and shape of the Planet Earth.
