Heritage Open Days - Newcastle Trams & The Tramway Committee Before 1914: The Common Room

Head to The Common Room this September for a special Heritage Open Days talk about Newcastle's tramways!

Led by Lawrence Napper, senior lecturer in Film Studies at Kings College, this fascinating talk will cover how tramways affected the city centre using archive footage from the opening of the tram network into Benton Bank and Heaton in 1913 alongside records from the Tyne and Wear Archives Service and The Common Room to tell the story of Newcastle's tram system prior to 1914.
