North Wrestling: They Will March On: Riverside

INDEPENDENT wrestling has gained a large following in recent years, with events packing venues across the UK and hundreds of North East fans attending live events around the region. The 160-strong grapple fans in attendance at NORTH Wrestling’s debut show //NCL.1/BRACE YOURSELF proved this.

NORTH Wrestling is following the example set by successful UK Wrestling promotions like Progress, ICW and RevPro. NORTH invited popular wrestler ‘The Extraordinary Gentleman’ Jack Gallagher to their first show. In the weeks since, Jack signed a contract with WWE and will appear on their flagship show. British Wrestling is quickly establishing itself as the breeding ground for the global superstars of tomorrow.

THEY WILL MARCH ON will showcase the best UK talent again. JIMMY HAVOC is a man that all British Wrestling fans should know. His bloody and drawn out battle to win the Progress Wrestling Championship defined a new generation of British Wrestling. However, an ill-timed ACL knee injury sustained this year put Jimmy’s burgeoning TNA career on the shelf. But, NORTH Wrestling have signed Jimmy for one of his first matches back in the spotlight. An unmissable war against Newcastle’s own pro-wrestling Gorilla, JASON PRIME, awaits. After a Semi-Final appearance at PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles (the highlight of the independent wrestling calendar), MARK HASKINS was lauded by Pro-Wrestling journalist extraordinaire, Dave Meltzer, as the “most underrated wrestler in independent wrestling”. His opponent HT DRAKE brawled into the crowd against Liam Thomson last time out.

NORTH’s first female competitor is billed to appear, in the form of Progress Wrestling Dojo graduate JINNY. The Kensington-based Fashionista is to offer an open challenge (and some fashion advice) to the women of Newcastle.

The PASTOR WILLIAM EAVER’S inclusion on the card has caught the eye of the sinful RORY COYLE. Will Rory repent and allow his soul to be cleansed by the former Progress Wrestling Champion, or will he and Bàs Bàn (the SONS OF ULAID) continue on their path of depravity? Birmingham’s DAMIAN DUNNE will return, but this time with his pal and purveyor of Hardcore CLINT MARGERA. We will also see the Class Apart ALEXANDER HENRY, the Vengabus-riding LIAM SLATER, the ‘Hot Blooded Male’ DOM BLACK and many more.
