Magnolia Walls: Northern Stage

This Event has passed

Head to the Northern Stage on the 24th and 25th June for a story of a military life, like you've never seen before.

Set in Northumberland, the play follows the tumultuous lives of Roxie and Pen, two military wives who form an unlikely ‘Thelma and Louise’ style friendship.

Drawn upon focus groups and interviews, the play highlights some of the key themes and issues that emerged from the research. This story challenges the stereotypes of the military partner and explores how home life and personal relationships are impacted by war. As Roxie and Pen’s relationship intensifies, their experiences of racism, suicide, the trauma of war and domestic abuse are uncovered. ‘Magnolia Walls’ explores just how integral female friendships can be.
