The second instalment in The Newcastle Meditation Centre's Saturday Afternoon Workshop Series, this workshop will focus on the practice of meditation in Theravada, Tibetan and Zen Buddhism.
Each traditional method will be introduced and explained, followed by brief periods of meditation. These will be separated by examples of meditative chanting in Pali, Tibetan, Japanese and English.
Dr Robert Bluck is a writer, Zen practitioner and mindfulness meditation teacher. He has worked as a schoolteacher, academic librarian and Open University lecturer in world religions.
He has research degrees in English and Religious Studies, and is the author of British Buddhism (Routledge, 2006) and a novel set in Northumberland, Mr Woodreeve’s Reflection (Unbound, 2016).
He is currently researching and writing a book on family histories, and cycling in stages around the coast of Britain.
This Workshop will take place between 1.30–4.30pm, with coffee served from 1pm.
