Crime and Ethics in Business: Newcastle University Business School
This Event has passed
Bribery and corruption is in the top five of ethical issues that businesses want to address according to research by the Institute of Business Ethics.
To bring the subject alive, Newcastle University Business School and the Northern Institute of Business Ethics (NIBE) bring you Crime and Ethics in Business. The speaker is international businessman Robert Bing, whos career spans work with ConAgra Foods, The Coca-Cola Company and Guinness PLC (now Diageo).
Robert will help attendees understand more fully:
Whats ethical but illegal?
Whats un-ethical but legal?
Whats both unethical and illegal?
And whats totally ethical and totally legal (but somehow wrong)?
This interactive session should be of interest to businesses, professional advisors, academics, students and the general public. It will start by defining crime in business and then then compare crime by the business with crime against the business. Throughout the session Robert will draw on case-studies and personal experience to probe, challenge and discuss some of the grey areas between legality and ethical business behaviour.
This event is free to attend but registration is required.
Please put the 18th November in your diary for a thought provoking evening.
