Coal: Newcastle Arts Centre

This Event has passed
A new exhibition by North of England Art Club - new paintings that look back a time when Tyneside was famous for the black stuff that powered an Industrial Revolution, the invention of Steam Railways and electrical power generation - all in Newcastle. For the miners they were hard times, that inadvertently began Global Warming and ended with destructive political conflict of the Miners Strike. So we have a heritage of pride and regret, a subject that will not be forgotten on Tyneside. Closed on May 25th.
