Join Newcastle's Life Science Centre this June for DNA Dialogues, an informal panel discussion about the centre's journey so far as it celebrates its 25th birthday.
Discover how a formerly derelict area of the city was transformed into a thriving science hub and went on to make global headlines for its advances in research and clinical care, hearing about some of Life's biggest breakthroughs and how its future innovations could redefine healthcare.
Panelists include Sir John Burn, leading authority on the genetics of cancer and one of the people behind Life, and Professor Laura Greaves, whose research focuses on mitochondrial DNA mutations. They'll be discussing topics including how Life's understanding of genetic diseases and cancers have shaped patient care and whether personalised medicine is a possibility for all.
This event free, but places are limited and booking is essential. For the event timetable and to reserve your place, visit the Life Science Centre website.
