Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award 2025 and Exploring Identity: Laing Art Gallery

This spring and summer, Newcastle's very own Laing Art Gallery is set to showcase the National Portrait Gallery's celebrated painting competition, the Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award 2025.

Guests will journey through the history of portrait painting from the 16th century, right through to the present day, with work from the likes of Francis Bacon, Christina Robertson and John Lavery, as well as Michelle Liu, Norman Cornish, and Harry Thubron.
