Founded in 1901, Laing Art Gallery is an art lover's heaven with regularly changing exhibitions of historic, modern and contemporary art.
Head to the North Spirits gallery to see outstanding, locally produced artwork and objects from the likes of Thomas Bewick and Ralph Hedley, soak up seminal works by Paul Gaugin and William Holman-Hunt in Laing's 18th and 19th century display, or head to the stunning Marble Hall for artworks by Henry Moore and Turner Prize nominee Paul Noble.
Alongside its impressive collection, Laing Art Gallery also hosts temporary and visiting exhibitions and events including art classes for kids and artist and curator talks.
