Lonnie Liston Smith: Pilgrim

Lonnie Liston Smith is without doubt one of the living legends of the American Black Music scene. He played with Art Blakey, Pharoah Saunders before joning Miles Davis band. He went on to create his own band The Cosmic Echoes & released a skew of influential albums. In the 1990's he went on to work with Hip Hop legend Guru on the groundbreaking Jazzmatazz series. In the 2000's he had hit singles with Mary J Blige & was sampled by Jay Z on his hit "Dead Presidents"
