Summer Holiday Fun: Science Adventure at Fenwick Newcastle Have a fun time and enjoy weird and wonderful activities this summer in the Fenwick Toy Department. Fenwick have four fun interactive workshops led by Blast Science taking place throughout August for ages 5-10 years. The Sound Show Monday 3 to Wednesday 5 August, 11am and 2pm Take a look into the fascinating journey of sound and the biology behind how the ear works. Take part in fun interactive experiments using the theremin, gongs, cymbals, and decibel readers. The Forces and Astronomy Show Monday 10 to Wednesday 12 August, 11am and 2pm Discover captivating facts about the earth, moon and stars and find out about the men and women of physics plus learn about air resistance and friction. Also, take part in an interactive gravity challenge to support a 1kg bag of sugar using only tooth picks. The Materials Show Monday 17 to Wednesday 19 August, 11am and 2pm The Material Show peels back the layers of the world and looks into the things that make things. Solids, liquids, gases, atoms, molecules and polymers make up this fun interactive workshop. Also, you will have the opportunity to create your own polymer using slime. The Totally Gross Show with Chemistry and Biology Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 August, 11am and 2pm The Totally Gross Show looks into the biology and chemistry of the human body. Take a look into the world of snots, blood and nits under the microscope. Also, you will have the chance to create your own edible crunchy scabs in a petri dish. All workshops are suitable for ages 5-10 years. Price: £5 per child plus booking fee. The £5 ticket price is redeemable against a craft or science toy on the day of the workshop.
