Discovery Nights - Wonder Women: Discovery Museum

Celebrate International Women's Day with a very special edition of the Discovery Museum's after-hours event Discovery Nights!

Honouring remarkable women from the North East, Discovery Nights: Wonder Women gives guests the chance to be the first to see the museum's exciting new acquisition - the costume worn by Brenda Blethyn as Vera, the fictional Geordie detective created by author Ann Cleeves who'll be there on the night for a short reading and Q&A session.

There'll be talks from trailblazing engineer Rachel Parsons and wartime wonder Dr Irene Ighodaro, crafts including proggy mat making and Vera costume sketching and live music from local singer-songwriter Kirsty Hall and all-female drumming band The Bangshees.
